Performance Opportunities

While each year's calendar varies slightly, the studio holds several performance events in addition to those sponsored by the Birmingham Music Teachers Association, the Birmingham Metro Music Forum, the Alabama Music Teachers Association, Music Teachers National Association, and other organizations.
The formal recital is held in the Spring, usually in March or April, and features pre-college students of all ages and levels of advancements. The Annual Awards Ceremony is usually held at the conclusion of this recital as well as a reception. There are also many casual party-type performance and educational events throughout the year like the October "Spooktacular", Holiday piano-caroling parties, piano camps, Mayblast, hymn festivals, pipe organ workshops and more. Students have also enjoyed masterclasses with guest clinicians from New York City and local professionals, as well as live-internet masterclasses with clinicians tuning from all over the world ..... like Australia, Paris, France, and Salzburg! Students have even participated in fundraiser concerts on StageIt.com and even enjoyed performing in the malls! Masterclasses with guest clinician, John Bloomfield who traveled from NYC to Birmingham to work with students of McLelland Piano Studio.

The concluding recitals at each Summer Piano Camp is always a fun performance event as well as the October Spooktacular for younger students.
